New Squamish 5.12 on The Pulpit
The Ontario Access Coalition, and the Alpine Club of Canada, have guaranteed climbing’s future at Old Baldy, one of the Niagara Escarpment’s most beautiful crags. “We’re ecstatic to announce that, with the help of our partners and the Ontario rock climbing community, we have secured access to Old Baldy for rock climbing,” said the Ontario Access Coalition.

The new route cal led Industr y Standard 5.12 climbs The Pulpit, a feature with a shar p prow on it s lef t side bet ween Dogzilla and Fog Ducker Spire. Industr y Standard is a f ive-pitch with the pitches going as: 5.10d, 5.11a, McSorley wrote on
t hat the route is continuously overhanging (except the last pitch) so it stays dr y in the rain, but seeps in spr ing and early summer. “If you like wild, burly adventurous crack climbing, step r ight up.”
