and the tr iple peak on the r ight is Mount Jupiter. The minor peaks on Jupiter are, from the left, Lena, Pol lux and Castor. The col to the north of Jupiter is Sapphire Col. There’s a biv y hut up there, and sometimes you can see climbers on the r idge. From the front porch, you’re looking north. You can see the green roof of the Rogers Pass Centre below, and above it is Mount Tupper, the Tupper and Swiss Glaciers and Mount Rogers.

In winter, the hut is the base for dozens of sk iers a week. Backcountr y skil ls and avalanche training are a must. In the summer, it’s used by hikers and climbers heading out for the Asulkan Ridge group.–
