Gripped - - BACK TO BASICS -

Climb with a relaxed grip Many climbers have a tendency to death grip the handle of their ice tools while climbing. For the most part this is completely unnecessary and only makes you pump out faster. When climbing with a relaxed grip, your thumb should not be gripped onto the handle, rather it should just be wrapped loosely, ready to tighten in the moments that extra grip is required. Your pinky fingers should be taking most of the weight. Think pinky locks when crack climbing.
