Mount Storm New Route

Ian Welsted, Maarten Van Haeren and Jay Mills climbed an obvious route on the north face of Mount Storm near Castle Junction in Banff National Park. Named Canoeing to Cuba i n honour of former prime minister Pierre Trudeau’s attempt to paddle from Canada to Cuba IV M5 WI5 350m. “Celebrating our Canadian love of adventure in the outdoors, celebrating our Canadian uniqueness,” said Welsted. The route climbs a series couloirs connected by steep pillars of ice.
