Waterton Lakes

The park is found in the southwest corner of Alberta next to Glacier National Park in Montana, not to be confused with the Canadian Glacier National Park. The area is stunning and has big mountains and stretches of lakes and rivers. It is known as the warmest, wettest and windiest place in the province. The area is well known for its ice climbing, but there are a number of nice summer routes.

On Mount Crandell are a number of nice limestone routes, such as Corner Monster 5.5. Near the visitor centre is Bear’s Hump with a fun hike to the top. There are some great sport climbs on it, such as Cuasak’s Crack 5.9 and Hareball Express 5.7. If you’re looking for bigger objectives, there are some good mountain routes on Mount Alderson, Lakeview Ridge, Mount Rowe and Vimy Ridge. 2007: 2010: 2011: 2012: 2013: 2013: 2014: 2015: 2015: 2016: 2016: 2017:
