On your descent you met a Canadian woman struggling up. What happened then? I met Sandra Leduc going to basecamp from the summit of Everest. She overheard me speaking French and came to speak to us. She was upset that she didn’t get to summit after an attempt. I told her she had to go back because there would be another weather window. I told her to be positive, to believe it was possible and not to give up, that she needed to carry on and try again. We crossed paths again at basecamp and I told her that she could not go home without trying again. And then she made it to the summit.—
