Every season climber should have a few short ice screws on them in case they run into some thin ice. The Lasers come in a number of sizes, but the 13 cm is our choice for mixed season. They bite quickly and the crank lets you screw them into the ice faster than most express screws. Plus the crank is big enough to use with gloves on.
