Skaha Details

SEASON

-

The season can be from late February to November depending on the year. December and January are usually too cold to climb and the mid-summer will have you running to the lake for a mid-day swim. The Morning Glory wall is perfect to escape the crowds on cool mornings. Great White wall is nice for sunsets.

HOW TO GET THERE

Skaha is on the edge of Penticton and just north of Okanagan Falls. You can see the bluffs from town. From Vancouver, take Hwy 5 (the Coquihalla) or Hwy 3 (Crowsnest), depending on whether you value time or scenery more. It’s possible to drive in from the east or south as well and to fly into Penticton or Kamloops.

GEAR

A rack of quickdraws and trad gear if you plan on crack climbing. Bring a 70-metre rope to access all of the routes. Approach shoes are best and bring flip flops for the crag. Bring layers and rain gear.
