Godfather of Psicobloc Passes Away
We learned at the time of print, that Miguel Riera, known as the godfather of psicobloc (deep water soloing), passed away from cancer at the age of 56. He was considered to be the climber who brought deep water soloing into the mainstream, and over the years introduced climbers such as Tim Emmett and Chris Sharma to the sport. Riera released a now-famousguidebook called Psibloc Mallorca in the mid-2000s and pioneered many legendary crags, including Cova Del Diablo.
