Stas Beskin Solos Recital Hall WI6 Routes
In December, Stas Beskin made rare solos of Rainbow Serpent and Fearful Symmetry, two WI6 climbs in the Ghost River Valley. Matt Westlake was on hand to photograph Beskin and wrote the following about the day: “I’ve had the opportunity to photograph Stas a handful of times. I’ve seen him on runouts that made me wish he’d stop to place another screw. Twenty-two minutes after staring, he stood on top of Fearful Symmetry, arms spread wide. He then made his way to Rainbow Serpent, which he spent 50 minutes climbing; it’s twice the length of Fearful. Asking if satisfied, he replied, ‘Very.’ I was satisfied that everything went per plan and that we would all return to another day in the mountains.”
