Carrier and Company’s first fabric collection captures the founding duo’s quintessential take on traditional style.
Since founding Carrier and Company together in 2005, Mara Miller and Jesse Carrier have helped clients such as actor Jessica Chastain and Vogue editor Anna Wintour create warm, colourful spaces that nod to tradition but aren’t beholden to it. Their first fabric collection follows suit. Inspired by the rambling meadows and wildflower fields that surround the couple’s weekend home in Dutchess County, N.Y., the collection’s eight mix and match patterns include romantic florals and sweet stripes, as well as bolder graphics. “The collection is designed so there’s something for people who like pretty, but also for those who like more urban, tailored homes and apartments,” says Mara. The patterns are brought to life by a range of livable hues, from inky blues and pale greens to gentle lavenders and warm golds. “They were very happy that we love colour,” says Mara of their collaborators at Lee Jofa. “Once you get used to living with colour, you really miss it when you don’t have it.”
