2017 FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW RECAP
Story and Photography by Lee Bailie
The biennial Frankfurt Motor Show is a dizzying exhibition of automotive can-do spread out over almost a dozen halls across the vast Messe Frankfurt fairgrounds in the heart of downtown Frankfurt. Long known for being a show where European-based manufacturers unveil their latest and greatest from both a concept and production car standpoint, the show has a strong international feel with entries from global brands (many of whom are included here), along with those that do not have a presence in North America, such as Opel, Peugeot, Renault and Skoda, among others. Given the sheer volume of cars being shown and the limited space available, I've created a list of reveals that caught my eye, on both the production and concept sides. Most of the following vehicles will be sold in Canada eventually, but some will not. Generally, the criteria for inclusion is based on market significance, the importance of the brand in the wider auto industry and cool factor, an admittedly subjective quality.
