The big news for Kia’s latest crossover is that a plug-in hybrid model will be joining the lineup in 2018. The Niro PHEV is expected to deliver roughly 41-kilometres of all-electric range with a total driving range of over 900 kilometres. Power is derived from a 1.6L gas engine paired with a 8.9 kwh lithium-polymer batter pack and a 44.5 kw electric motor. Combined power output is rated at 139 horsepower and 195 lb-ft. of torque.
