The Mid-Isle Wildcats are now 1-1-1 (won-lostovertime losses) at the 2016 Atlantic bantam female hockey championship tournament in Liverpool, N.S. After winning two games on Thursday, the Wildcats lost 3-2 in overtime to the New Brunswickchampion Moncton Rockets on Friday. The Wildcats play the Newfoundland and Labrador representative on Saturday morning.

The Mid-Isle Wildcats were knocked from the undefeated ranks on Friday afternoon.

After winning their first two round-robin games at the 2016 Atlantic bantam female hockey championship tournament on Thursday, the New Brunswickchampion Moncton Rockets tied the game late in the third period and pulled out a 3-2 overtime win over the Wildcats.

Mid-Isle’s record is now 2-0-1 (won-lost-overtime-losses), and the P.E.I. Bantam AAA Female Hockey League champions will close out round-robin play against the Central Ice Pak from Newfoundland and Labrador on Saturday. A win should guarantee the Matrix a berth in Sunday’s championship game, which will feature the top two teams after round-robin play.

Against the Rockets, Jessica Watts and Lexie Murphy, with a short-handed marker, scored for the Wildcats. Danielle Gallant was between the pipes for Mid-Isle, which splits its home games between the APM Centre in Cornwall and Credit Union Place in Summerside.
