Live from Europe
After an exhausting overnight flight, a tired but excited group of eight students from Kensington Intermediate Senior High arrived in London, England to begin their trip of a lifetime! Today we went to the Imperial War Museum directly from the airport, to tour the 90-year-old museum.
Editor’s note: Students from Kensington, Three Oaks and Kinkora high schools are travelling through Europe for the 100th anniversary of Vimy Ridge. The Journal Pioneer has partnered with the Kensington Intermediate Senior High School to send regular reports of their travels.

The part of the Imperial War Museum that was thought of as the most powerful was the Holocaust exhibit. It was a powerful interactive, visually overwhelming demonstration of the organized cruelty that humans can achieve.
After a walking tour of Piccadilly Circus, as well as the Tower Bridge, we then ate at the Medieval Fair restaurant and devoured our supper of fish and chips. Tomorrow’s events will include a memorial walk to Green Park, which is located right beside Buckingham Palace, as well as the parade.
We will be riding the London Eye, taking part in a Jack the Ripper tour in the evening and a walking tour through the city of London. We learned today from our tour director, Tom, that the official City of London is one square mile as determined by the Romans 2,500 years ago and is the financial district of London today.
Looking forward to our 5,000-person parade tomorrow!
