MACKAY, ROSS
The funeral service for Ross MacKay of Campbellton, beloved husband to Sheila (Smith), was held on Friday, May 5, 201y at Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel, O’Leary at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lynn McKinnon officiating, assisted by Rev. Robert McCarthy. The scripture readings were from Psalm 23, 1 Corinthians 13, and John 11. Loving words of remembrance were given by Ross’ grandchildren Emma Huddleston, Bronte Handrahan, Samantha MacKay and Dylann Barbour. Rev Lynn McKinnon sang the solo “Connemara Cradle Song”. Special music “Nearer My God To Thee” and “Beyond The Sunset” was offered by Ruth and Wanda Dunbar” Cd recording of Winnie Chafe’s “For The Love Of My Father” was played. World renounced Piper, James MacHattie piped the processional, “Amazing Grace” and recessional “The Dark Isle”. Everyone in attendance was considered an honorary pallbearer. The pallbearers were grandsons Jesse Barbour, Dakota Barbour, Rowgan Barbour, Tanner Handrahan, Quaid Handrahan and Christopher Huddleston. The flower bearers were grandchildren and great grandchildren MacKayla Gallant, Dylann Barbour, Bronte Hanrahan, Olivia Huddleston, Samantha MacKay, Sabrina MacKay, Dharma MacKay, Emma Huddleston, Ella Boyes, Walker Handrahan, Austin Boyes and Leighton MacIsaac. Interment followed in Campbellton United Church Cemetery. Brethren of the Zetland Lodge #7, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Alberton held a Masonic service of remembrance for their late worshipful brother on Thursday May 4, 2017 at 9 p.m., under the direction of Master of the Lodge, Worshipful Brother Paul Beatie. The service was conducted by Worshipful Brother Cook Howatt P.G.M. The Chaplin was Brother Raigh Calbeck. Attending the service was Grand Master of Masons for PEI, Most Worshipful Brother Edward R. MacLaren.
