Home for holiday
Dylan Menzie gears up for P.E.I. holiday show, new album and spot on ‘The Launch’
Dylan Menzie is back in Charlottetown for a special holiday show.
With a busy 2017 nearly wrapped up, Dylan Menzie won’t be slowing down in 2018. The P.E.I.-based troubadour just finished performing a string of solo shows in Ontario in November, including a performance at Ottawa’s National Arts Centre, ahead of a special holiday show in his hometown of Charlottetown on Dec. 8, which will support the Upper Room Soup Kitchen. Come the new year, Menzie will be one of 30 rising Canadian
artists featured on “The Launch,” an upcoming six-part music television series from CTV.
The series will feature
Shania Twain, Fergi, Nikki Sixx and Alessia Cara and offers a behind the scenes look at the creation of a new original song.
He will also release a new acoustic collection of his tracks from his heralded 2016 album, “Adolescent Nature.”
“As the Clock Rewinds” is a collection of reworked cuts along with a bonus track.
The debut single will be available to download and stream in the coming weeks.
“This past year has been crazy busy but also very exciting,” said Menzie. After the performances in Ontario, he expected to “be back to work on this new acoustic album.
“I really enjoyed reimaging the songs from ‘Adolescent Nature’ in a more intimate setting.” Immediately following his Australia tour dates, Menzie landed in Ontario and spent eight days, ending the shows in Orillia on Nov. 25.
