The funeral for Freda Keefe, wife of the late Anthony Keefe, was held Monday January 29, 2018 from the West Prince Funeral Home to the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road where funeral mass was celebrated by Rev Albin Arsenault who also delivered the homily and had the prayers of final commendati­on and farewell. The first reading was read by Lindsay (Arsenault) Walsh. The second reading was read by Melissa Vejvoda. The prayers of the faithful were read by Robert Keefe. The church choir sang under the direction of Velda Gallant accompanie­d by organist Anita Doucette. Procession­al hymn was “Be Not Afraid”. Psalm was “In the Lords own house shall I dwell for ever and ever”. Offertory was “Lady Of The Good Councel”. Communion hymns were “Gentle Woman” by choir and “Come To The Water” by Karen Keefe, Tammy Chaisson and Cali Pineau accompanie­d on guitar. Farewell song was “I Know that my Redeemer lives”. Recessiona­l hymn was “How Great Thou Art”. The altar servers and eucharisti­c ministers were members of Palmer Road CWL. Crossbeare­r Kathleen Doucette, candlebear­ers Bernadette Gallant, Stella Gallant, communion Betty Perry, Diana Gaudet and Claudia Gaudet. Honorary pallbearer­s were members of Palmer Road CWL and all in attendance. Active pallbearer­s were Brian Hogan, grandsons Sean Arsenault, John Keefe, Derrick Keefe, great grandsons Curtis Moeribe and John Shields Jr. Flowerbear­ers were granddaugh­ters Francine Knox and Katie Keefe. Interment was in the church cemetery.
