You can make the changes you need to make

-

We elders always want to help youth in their searching. Helpful words: “Come Holy Spirit” then depend on the Holy Spirit’s guidance. Do become serious learners and do search for the truth. We must realize the enemy is trying, even succeeding in tearing apart families. There’s only the priesthood left for Satan to crush. We’ll be left with no Eucharist – no mass.

You boys, young men and even older, please realize that girls and women need you to protect us, never to use us, but be there to protect us, sometimes even from ourselves.

It’s sad and scary to watch parents giving over, even infants, to the state.

Parents, your every child is a God-given gift put into your hands to love and nurture to mature adulthood. You are to be their main educators. We must turn back the clock or we’ll all drown together. Do believe I’ve heard from my very own “Mother, you can’t turn back the clock.” We must.

Lent is upon us, vestments are purple, wonderful 40 days to stop and think and listen patiently for directions.

I wonder if we can even start to realize how our Holy Father needs us all, not just Catholics, to just believe and help him with his call for renewal in our church.

Lent – Time of Penance, deny ourselves. Lots to give up now especially entertainment. From our book “Light of the World.” Our former Holy Father when asked about “Causes of Crisis and Global Catastrophe” these words practically jumped off the page “the lack of willingness to do without.” No need to analyze that. Lent – Be kind to people around us, those we have to live with. Didn’t we like hearing from Prince Harry in the present fuss for our Queen’s anniversary. Prince Harry upheld his Grandfather, Prince Philip, saying: “He’s always there for Grandmother.” I do recall right here on P.E.I., the Queen and Prince Philip and the media catching comment: “Do your stuff, girl.” Old saying “behind every good man is a good woman” it goes the other way too.

Here’s more questions. Should the natives in Canada have to go to such lengths to have their sufferings heard? Would we like to be walking in their shoes?

Lent is such a time of hope, despite all the gloom around us. If we do our part, God always does His part.

For any who may see nothing left to hold onto, please do believe you can make the changes you need to make.

You, who are baptized Catholics, who may have strayed away, are always being invited back home, especially at this holy time leading up to Easter. Oh, the beauty and the wonder of the gifts from our faith and our church. To hear the words of a priest, using his ordained power: “I absolve you from all of your sins, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

May we all be blessed with the new life that the risen Jesus wants to give us at this holy time. A happy spring too.
