Trinity United concert series to reunite Bluestreak

-

The P.E.I. band Bluestreak will be reunited for the fourth in the Trinity United Winter Concert Series to be held April 15, at Trinity United Church in Summerside.

After a 10-year hiatus and the untimely death of their friend and fellow band member, Nathan Condon, award winning Bluestreak is looking forward to performing in an afternoon of music, starting at 2 p.m. Bluestreak has received numerous awards over its career, including 2004 P.E.I. Music Awards Group of the Year, Album of the Year, Bluegrass Recording of the Year, ECMA nomination for Bluegrass Recording of the Year, 2005 P.E.I. Music Awards Bluegrass Recording of the Year, and ECMA nomination for Bluegrass Recording of the Year.

At the Sunday concert in Summerside, the band will perform original, non-traditional bluegrass music written by band members Larry Campbell, Andy Paynter, Dave Blue and Roger Wightman. They also plan to lead a singalong with some favourites from Prairie Oyster, Johnny Cash, Steve Earle and more.

The Trinity United Winter Concert will continue this spring with upcoming shows featuring Michael Pendergast and friends on May 6, Phase II on May 20, and Charlie Love and the Silky Smooth Band on June 3, all at 2 p.m.

Tickets are available at the door or pick up advance tickets at the church office at 90 Spring Street or call 902-436-3155. Advance tickets are $10 and tickets at the door are $12.
