LOCKE Norma Ruth 1929-2018

The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, following a brief illness, of Norma Ruth Locke, of Cascumpec, age 88 years. Beloved wife of the late John C. Locke. Born at Brooklyn, P.E.I. on May 11, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John and Ruth (nee Hierlihy) Ashley. Loving mother to Gary (Janet) and Brian (Ellen), and son-in-law Dale Gallant (friend Marlene). Cherished grandmothe­r to Jeanne (Tony), Ashley (Pat), Alex, Glenn (Kim), Craig (April), Susan (Allison), Peggy (Dan), Jonathan (Leigh-Anne), Angela (Sam) and Donna (Sheldon). Great-grandmothe­r to Madeline, Jack, Anthony, Parker, Sawyer, Corbin, Lydia, Ava, Mya, Kayleigh, Dane and Zelda, as well as several extended family members, whom she loved dearly. Dear sister to Lowden (Norma) and Ivan (Dorothy). She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sisters and brothersin-law, Thelma (Jim), Norma (Roscoe), Cliburne (Lillian), Mary (late Cyril), Betty (late William), Wayne and Margaret. She was predecease­d by her husband of 60 years, John, her daughter Linda, and greatgrand­daughter Vera Rose. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton. Visiting hours Friday 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Saturday afternoon from the Cascumpec United Church for funeral service at 3:30 p.m., Rev. Lynn McKinnon officiatin­g. Interment in the Cascumpec United Church Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Cascumpec United Church Cemetery Fund would be gratefully appreciate­d.
