‘Awake’ play deals with grieving
SUMMERSIDE – “Awake” is a debut play presented by the Atlantic Academy of Performing Arts in Summerside at the Harbourfront Theatre, for one night only, April 7, at 7 p.m. “Awake” tells the story of a group dealing with the sudden loss of their friend Juliette Murphy. Through songs, stories, and humour, a group of friends face their own insecurities about their choices and reflect on the fragility of life, the awareness of time, and the importance of friendship, with the understanding that grieving is, in fact, complicated.
The play is directed by Sherri-Lee Pike, and written by Jenna Harvey and the cast. Music direction is provided by Aaron Ellis.
