April library programs fun for all ages

- Rebecca Boulter Rebecca Boulter is the literacy and public services librarian at the Summerside Rotary Library at the Inspire Learning Centre.

If you are interested in learning more about music therapy be sure to visit the library on Wednesday, April 4, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Music therapy is the use of music and musical elements by an accredited music therapist to promote, maintain and restore mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Dan BevanBaker, a certified music therapist working in Summerside, invites the public to join him for a free information session on music therapy to learn how the practice works and how it benefits.

Visit the library on Saturday, April 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. for a special gardening workshop with Gerry Reichheld.

The session will cover planting seeds, growing vegetables, and any other gardening questions you may have.

You can also stop by the seed library to find something new for your home garden.

Children who will be entering kindergarten in the fall, and their families, are invited to a special welcome to kindergarten event at the library on Saturday, April 14, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. We are joining the Learning Partnership to build on the experience of welcome to kindergarten events held at local elementary schools. Children will have the opportunity to practise their school readiness skills such as scissor skills, letter knowledge, and other early literacy skills.
