A knee for Brodie McCarthy

Journal Pioneer - - ISLAND NEWS -

Westisle Composite High School rugby players “take a knee” Monday as a sign of respect for a Montague Regional High School student who died Sunday. Brodie McCarthy sustained a head injury during a game Friday in the David Voye Memorial rugby tournament in Summerside. “I needed to do something,” Westisle rugby coach Randy Harper, who started his teaching career at Montague High, said of his decision to ask the Westisle rugby teams to take a knee. When a player goes down to injury during a game, players on both teams take a knee until the matter is resolved. Harper said the Westisle players “were very eager to do something to show their support.”
