No provisions in town for communal housing

Journal Pioneer - - PRINCE COUNTY - BY ERIC MCCARTHY

Alberton Town Council has decided nothing has changed that would cause them to reconsider a communal housing permit application. Town Council rejected a request last year from Westech Agriculture for permission to set up communal housing for farm workers on the basis that it does not have a zoning bylaw to cover that type of housing. Westech reapplied and council took a quick look at the request during its May meeting before deciding the rejection still stands. There would have to be a new bylaw established before council could reconsider, Mayor Michael Murphy commented.
