Ed­ward A. Guergis Sr. 81, of Sum­mer­side, Prince Ed­ward Is­land, passed peace­fully at Prince County Hos­pi­tal, sur­rounded by his lov­ing wife

Alice, chil­dren, grand­chil­dren and great­grand­chil­dren. Ed­ward was the son of the late Ge­orge and Bertha (Nordine) Guergis. Sur­vived by his wife Alice (Leger) Guergis; chil­dren Natalie Guergis (Ean St. Claire) and Ed­ward (Shirley); grand­chil­dren Ni­cholas, Jor­dan, Ash­ley (Ste­fan), Mitchell (An­gele), and Gar­rett; great-grand­chil­dren Alivia, Ryder, Ken­lea, Co­hen, Pre­ston and Roya. Also sur­vived by his brothers Karam (Linda), Ge­orge Jr. (Late Pa­tri­cia) and Con­rad (Pa­tri­cia). Rest­ing at the Moase Fu­neral Home, 150 Sum­mer St., Sum­mer­side. Visi­ta­tion Fri­day May 18th 5 – 8 p.m. Fu­neral ser­vice to be held Satur­day, May 19th at 2 p.m. at the Sum­mer­side Pres­by­te­rian Church, 130 Vic­to­ria Rd. In­ter­ment to fol­low in the Peo­ples Ceme­tery, Sum­mer­side. Ed­ward was in­stru­men­tal in the build­ing of Essa Arena, An­gus, On­tario and a found­ing mem­ber of the Aqua­teers of Canada. Cer­ti­fied black belt Judo Sen­sei; Coun­cilor & Deputy Reeve in An­gus, On­tario as well as a mem­ber of the Ma­sonic Kerr Lodge and a 32nd De­gree Shriner. Ed­ward was a self-made entrepreneur who en­joyed his ac­tive role in his com­mu­nity. Memo­rial do­na­tions can be made to Gen­er­a­tion XX which is a lo­cal or­ga­ni­za­tion that has been ac­tively en­gag­ing the youth of our com­mu­nity since 1997.
