Men’s re­treat hap­pen­ing May 26 at Martha Spir­i­tu­al­ity Cen­tre

The Martha Spir­i­tu­al­ity Cen­tre at SDU Place is host­ing a day of re­treat and re­flec­tion for in­ter­ested men on Satur­day, May 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The re­treat theme is “Dis- cov­er­ing John of the Cross: the Path of a Con­tem­pla­tive Man.” Par­tic­i­pants will be in­vited to re­flect on some of the col­lected works of John of the Cross with recorded teach­ings by Dr. James Fin­lay. Fin­lay leads re­treats and work­shops through­out the United States and Canada at­tract­ing men and women from all reli­gious tra­di­tions who seek to live a con­tem­pla­tive way of life in the midst of to­day’s busy world.

This Char­lot­te­town re­treat is open to in­ter­ested men from all Chris­tian de­nom­i­na­tions.

This re­flec­tion day is or­ga­nized by Gilles Michaud, a team mem­ber of the Martha Spir­i­tu­al­ity Cen­tre and a man ded­i­cated to male spir­i­tu­al­ity. The day will con­sist of time for pre­sen­ta­tions, group prayer and dis­cus­sion as well as time for silent re­flec­tion.

The fee is $20. Par­tic­i­pants are asked to bring a brown bag lunch and bev­er­ages will be pro­vided. To reg­is­ter call 902367-3103 or mes­sage srgemma@east­ on or be­fore May 25.

The Martha Spir­i­tu­al­ity Cen­tre is on Great Ge­orge St. Visi­tors are asked to use the en­trance at the back of SDU Place.
