The fu­neral for Regi­nald (Reg) Noonan of Bor­den-Car­leton, hus­band of the late Lu­cilla Mae (Mur­phy) was held on Tues­day, May 15, 2018 from Law­less Fu­neral Home, Kinkora to St. Peter’s Church, Seven Mile Bay where fu­neral Mass was cel­e­brated at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Doug Mac­Don­ald who pro­claimed the gospel and also de­liv­ered the homily. The pall was placed on the cas­ket by daugh­ter, Kim­ber­ley and sons, Gary & Kenny and brother, Vern. Cross bearer was Jen­nie Jes­some. Mass servers were Karen Noonan and Thomas Sherry. The first read­ing was pro­claimed by son, Kenny Noonan and the sec­ond read­ing by grand­son, Kalon Noonan. Prayers of the faith­ful were led by sis­ter, Velda Jamieson. The par­ish choir sang pro­ces­sional hymn, Peace is Flow­ing Like a River; re­spon­so­rial psalm, The Lord is my Shep­herd; com­mu­nion hymn, When You Come to the Seashore and re­ces­sional, How Great Thou Art. Or­gan­ist was Joan Gau­vin. Com­mu­nion Lay dis­trib­u­tors were Brenda Green and He­lena Hamill. Pall bear­ers were sons, Gary and Kenny Noonan, brother, Vern Noonan, Mitch Mac­Don­ald, David McKenna and Ge­orge Mur­ray. At­tend­ing in a body were Bor­den-Car­leton’s Se­nior Club mem­bers, rep­re­sen­ta­tives of Knights of Colum­bus and Royal Cana­dian Le­gion, Bor­den Car­leton. On Mon­day evening Com­rades of the Royal Cana­dian Le­gion, Bor­den-Car­leton held a le­gion ser­vice un­der the direc­tion of Com­rade Keith Sigsworth. Sergeant at Arms was Com­rade Mario Henry. Color Party was Com­rades Ge­orge Palmer and Carl Payne. The Last Post was sounded by Com­rade Brian O’Con­nor. Mem­bers of the W. E. Mon­aghan Coun­cil of the Knights of Colum­bus held prayers at the visi­ta­tion.
