NOONAN Reginald (Reg)
The funeral for Reginald (Reg) Noonan of Borden-Carleton, husband of the late Lucilla Mae (Murphy) was held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora to St. Peter’s Church, Seven Mile Bay where funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by Rev. Doug MacDonald who proclaimed the gospel and also delivered the homily. The pall was placed on the casket by daughter, Kimberley and sons, Gary & Kenny and brother, Vern. Cross bearer was Jennie Jessome. Mass servers were Karen Noonan and Thomas Sherry. The first reading was proclaimed by son, Kenny Noonan and the second reading by grandson, Kalon Noonan. Prayers of the faithful were led by sister, Velda Jamieson. The parish choir sang processional hymn, Peace is Flowing Like a River; responsorial psalm, The Lord is my Shepherd; communion hymn, When You Come to the Seashore and recessional, How Great Thou Art. Organist was Joan Gauvin. Communion Lay distributors were Brenda Green and Helena Hamill. Pall bearers were sons, Gary and Kenny Noonan, brother, Vern Noonan, Mitch MacDonald, David McKenna and George Murray. Attending in a body were Borden-Carleton’s Senior Club members, representatives of Knights of Columbus and Royal Canadian Legion, Borden Carleton. On Monday evening Comrades of the Royal Canadian Legion, Borden-Carleton held a legion service under the direction of Comrade Keith Sigsworth. Sergeant at Arms was Comrade Mario Henry. Color Party was Comrades George Palmer and Carl Payne. The Last Post was sounded by Comrade Brian O’Connor. Members of the W. E. Monaghan Council of the Knights of Columbus held prayers at the visitation.
