IT support company expects to hire another 20 people by end of 2018
CareWorx, an information technology company that recently moved into downtown Summerside’s Holman Building, is expecting to hire at least another 20 people this year.
An information technology company that recently moved into Summerside’s Holman Building is expecting to hire at least another 20 people by the end of 2018.
CareWorx opened its original office in Summerside in 2013 with about 30 people and has grown steadily ever since. It now employs about 80. The company recently gave invitees a tour of its new offices in the Holman Building and announced its intention to continue to hire.
“We couldn’t be happier with the quality of people we’ve been able to add to our team in P.E.I.,” said company CEO Mark Scott.
“Our customers love the personalized end-user experience delivered by all of our service centre technicians and the province has made this a terrific climate in which to do business. Truly a win/win/win scenario.” CareWorks provides offsite information technology support for commercial clients.
The company recently secured $17 million in private equity funding and is using some of that money to expand its operation in Summerside.
The province has supported CareWorx’s development on the Island for years in terms of labour, development and equipment credits.
“We’ve worked very closely with CareWorx since the company’s arrival on Prince Edward Island and we’re very pleased to see the company expanding in Summerside,” said Innovation Minister Chris Palmer. “Today’s expansion announcement is a testament to this company’s quality products and services, and to the excellent Island workers now employed at CareWorx.”
