Is­land chefs are demon­strat­ing their culi­nary tal­ents as part of a month-long cel­e­bra­tion of P.E.I. seafood prod­ucts. The Best of Sea culi­nary com­pe­ti­tion runs through­out June and fea­tures 18 restau­rants across the prov­ince. To vote for your favourite, visit be­stof­sea.com. Chefs are vy­ing for $4,000 in prize money, and the 2018 Chic Chef of the Year earns the op­por­tu­nity to com­pete in the Gar­land In­ter­na­tional Chef Chal­lenge at Septem­ber’s P.E.I. In­ter­na­tional Shell­fish Fes­ti­val. Ten dif­fer­ent seafood species are be­ing show­cased this year. The 2017 win­ner was chef Javier Alarco of Wa­ter’s Edge in Char­lot­te­town.
