Low-speed col­li­sion in Al­ber­ton

The driver of a de­liv­ery truck was taken to hospi­tal to be checked over Tues­day morn­ing after his ve­hi­cle veered off Church Street in Al­ber­ton, up onto a side­walk and came to rest against a util­ity pole. An in­ves­ti­gat­ing of­fi­cer on the scene said po­lice are con­sid­er­ing the pos­si­bil­ity a med­i­cal is­sue might have been a con­tribut­ing cause to the low-speed col­li­sion. Cst. Phil Sk­iff­in­g­ton said the driver was alert and ex­hib­ited no phys­i­cal in­juries. The front bumper of the truck sus­tained a small dent. The col­li­sion is still un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion. Po­lice, am­bu­lance and firefighters re­sponded to the col­li­sion after a pass­ing fire­fighter ob­served the in­ci­dent un­fold.
