The town of Kensington has adopted a flag flying policy. Recently, the town has received a number of requests from organizations to fly their flags on town-owned flagpoles. The new policy states that no flag, other than a Canada, P.E.I. or Town of Kensington flag, will be flown from municipally owned flagpoles. There is one exception, the fourth flagpole located at the front of the town’s Rail Yards property. This flagpole will typically fly a Town of Kensington flag however it will also be designated for groups and organizations who request their event flag be flown from a town flagpole. The policy also allows the town to fly the appropriate flag on the occasion of a visiting dignitary. The flag may be flown for the duration of the dignitary’s visit.
