SABA host­ing 10-team pee­wee AA tournament

Play be­gins at QEP Fri­day

The Sum­mer­side Area Baseball As­so­ci­a­tion will host the first of 10 tour­na­ments this sum­mer this week­end. A to­tal of 10 teams will com­pete in a three-day pee­wee AA event, which is spon­sored by Dixie Lee Fam­ily Restau­rant in Sum­mer­side. Games will be played at Queen El­iz­a­beth Park and Sle­mon Park. Play be­gins on Fri­day at 5 p.m., and the host Sum­mer­side Chevys open against the Kentville Wild­cats on the Gordie Arse­nault Field at 7:45 p.m. Play goes all day Satur­day, with games be­gin­ning at 9 a.m., and the final game of the day sched­uled for 7:45 p.m. The semi­fi­nals, fea­tur­ing the first-place team tak­ing on the fourth-place team and the sec­ond- and third­place teams clash­ing, go Sun­day at 10 a.m. The cham­pi­onship game on the Very Im­por­tant Vol­un­teer (VIV) Field fol­lows at 1 p.m.
