Sobeys sponsors Lobster Carnival barbeque
“Compliments” of Granville Street Sobeys, the Community Barbeque will return to the 2018 Summerside Lobster Carnival. Manager of the Summerside store, Rodney Hood, left, says his staff “loved the atmosphere of the 2017 community barbeque, even though they barely had time for a breather as they served up hotdogs and cake. So they want to do it again.” The barbeque happens on the opening night of the carnival, July 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the courtyard of the carnival grounds. Summerside band Patina will be entertaining during the barbeque which will include the official opening of the carnival and the lobster eating competition. Marlene Campbell, of Culture Summerside, organizers of the Summerside Lobster Carnival happening July 12 to 14, and Hood check out Sobeys Lemonade Stand that will be part of the community barbeque at the 62nd edition of the carnival.
