The fu­neral for Olive Richard, Toronto and formerly of St. Pe­ter & St. Paul was held Satur­day De­cem­ber 1, 2018 from the West Prince Fu­neral Home, Palmer Road to St. Si­mon & St. Jude Church, Tig­nish where fu­neral mass was cel­e­brated by Rev. John Molina who also de­liv­ered the homily and had the prayers of fi­nal com­men­da­tion and farewell. Sem­i­nar­ian Wal­ter Flynn read the gospel. The first and se­cond read­ing and prayers of the faith­ful were read by Bar­bara McIn­nis. The choir sang un­der the di­rec­tion of Vin­cent Doucette ac­com­pa­nied by or­gan­ist Diane Han­dra­han. Pro­ces­sional hymn was “Here I Am Lord”. Psalm was “The Lord Is My Shep­herd”. Of­fer­tory hymn was “Prayer of St. Fran­cis”. Com­mu­nion hymn was “Seed, Scat­tered and Sown”. Farewell song was “Songs of the An­gels” and the re­ces­sional hymn was “How Great Thou Art”. The al­tar servers were Jimmy Ho­gan, Richard Shea, Char­lie Bernard and Louis Shea. Eucharis­tic min­is­ters were Rose Marie Richard and Wal­ter Flynn. The pall­bear­ers were Joey Richard, Lloyd Richard, Ed­ward Richard, Louis Richard, Ralph Richard and Mary Richard. In­ter­ment was in the church ceme­tery.
