The funeral for the late Ann Thelma Weeks beloved wife of John Weeks of Alberton was held on Friday morning December 7,2018from the Rooney Funeral Home & Chapel Alberton to the Sacred Heart Church Alberton where funeral mass was celebrated at 10;30 a.m. by the Rev. Andrew MacDonald who delivered the Homily and had the prayers of final commendati­on and farewell. The first reading from the book of Ecclesiast­es was addressed by sister Robbie Larter, who also invited the prayers of the faithful. The second reading from Romans 14;7-9,10-12 was addressed by niece, Angela Larter. The Eucharisti­c minister was Jean Cahill. The crucifer was Irving Broderick and the candle bearers were Joe Callaghan and Emile Bernard. The choir was under the direction of Phyllis Matthews and the organist was Diane Handrahan. The procession­al hymn was This Day God Gives Me. The psalm was The Lord is my Shepherd. The offertory hymn was, Like A Shepherd. The communion hymn, Hail Mary-Gentle Women was sung by Maureen Gallant and Sonya Wallace. The song of farewell was songs of the Angels. The recessiona­l hymn was Peace is Flowing like a River. Attending in a body were members from the Sacred Heart Council of the C.W.L., who on Thursday afternoon held prayers for their departed member at the funeral home at 1;30 p.m. with prayers led by Arlene Morrison, and scripture by Mona Broderick. The pallbearer­s were nephews, Peter Tremblay, Andrew Gaudet, Ryan Larter, Shawn Larter, Michael Larter, Paul Larter. The flower bearers were nieces, Katherine Gaudet, Cassidy Gaudet, Colleen Larter, Mary Lowther, Selina Lowther, Nephew Colton Lowther. Everyone present for the funeral liturgy were considered to be Honorary pallbearer­s. Interment was in the church cemetery with Rev. Andrew MacDonald officiatin­g.
