Bantam Warriors split games

The O’Leary-based Prince County Warriors split a pair of weekend games in the P.E.I. Major Bantam AAA Hockey League. The Warriors received goals from four different players in a 4-1 win over the visiting Eastern Express on Friday night, and lost 11-0 to the Central Attack of Charlottet­own on Saturday.

The results left the Warriors at 5-15-0 (won-lost-tied). Prince County was scheduled to visit the Mid-Isle Matrix (3-17-0) on Sunday.

Attack 11 Warriors 0

At the Simmons Sport Centre, the Attack proved why they are the top-scoring team in the P.E.I. Major Bantam AAA Hockey League on Saturday.

Will Morrison scored a hat trick to lead the Attack, who sports a league-best 20-2-0 (won-lost-tied) record while netting 161 goals in 22 regular-season games. Cam Squires (2-2), Brett Arsenault (21), Jonah MacDonald (2-1), Colby Huggan (1-3) and Isaac Vos (1-1) also scored while Jamie Collins (3), Kal White (3) and Nathan Mossey (2) contribute­d multipleas­sist efforts.

The Attack built period leads of 4-0 and 8-0.

Jack Howatt and Shannon MacDonald shared the shutout.

Warriors 4 Express 1

At the O’Leary Community Sports Centre, Clark Allain (1-1), Patrick Shea, Mason MacRae and Cody McCormack contribute­d goals for the Warriors. Carson MacArthur (2) and Cole Hemphill added assists for the Warriors. Avery Brown, assisted by Caleb MacDonald, replied for the Express (10-10-0).

The period scores were 1-1 and 4-1 in favour of the Warriors.

Nylan Hustler earned the goaltendin­g win.
