The funeral for the late Kenneth Joseph (Kenny) Perry of Alberton and formerly of Nail Pond, was held on Monday January 7, 2019 from the Rooney Funeral Home & Chapel Alberton to St. Simon and St. Jude Church Tignish, where funeral mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. by the Rev. John Molina who delivered the Homily and had the prayers of final commendati­on and fairwell. The first reading was addressed by Linda Perry sister of Kenneth. The second reading was addressed by daughter Tiffany Judson. The prayers of the faithful were invited by daughter CherylLee Murphy. The gifts were presented at the alter by grandsons Tanner and Taylor Murphy. The Eucharisti­c ministers were Percy and Joan Fennessey and James Hogan. The Crucifer was Richard Shea. The candle bearers were Charles Bernard and Louis Shea. The alter server was James Hogan. The choir was under the direction of the cantor Vincent Doucette. The organist was Diane Handrahan. The Entrance hymn was Be Not Afraid. The Psalm was The Lord Is My Shepherd. The Offertory hymn was I Will never Forget You My People. The Communion hymn was I Am the Bread of Life. The Post Communion hymn was the Magnificat, Holy Is Your Name. The Song of fairwell was Songs of the Angels. The recessiona­l hymn was How Great Thou Art. Everyone present for the funeral liturgy were considered to be Honorary pallbearer­s. The pallbearer­s were Stephen Murphy, Aaron Judson, Ricky DesRoches, Howard Perry, Jamie Murphy, Robbie Morgan. The flower bearers were grandchild­ren, Atwan Peters, Cohen Judson, Caleb Judson, Teaghan Murphy. Interment will later take place in the church cemetery.
