Red Wings visit Kensington Sunday

Vipers looking to solve arch-rivals

- JOURNAL PIONEER STAFF

The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers are hoping to do something that hasn’t been done since Nov. 10.

That is hand the Arsenault’s Fish Mart Western Red Wings a loss. The Red Wings will bring a 14-game winning streak into Credit Union Centre in Kensington on Sunday to face their archrivals in a 7 p.m. start.

The Red Wings have had the Vipers’ number thus far this season, winning five of six head-to-head matchups, including five straight. However, Vipers owner Pat McIver noted that recent games between the two teams have been “well-played affairs that could have gone either way,” and that his team is looking for a strong effort Sunday. League-leading Western, which is 19-3-0 (won-lost-overtime losses), holds a comfortable 14-point lead over the secondplace Vipers (12-7-0).
