The funeral for Raymond J. Chaisson, beloved husband of Suzanne Chaisson, was held Tuesday from the West Prince Funeral Home to the Immaculate Conception Church, Palmer Road where funeral mass was celebrated by Rev. Albin Arsenault assisted by Rev. Eddie Cormier. Rev. Arsenault delivered the homily and had the prayers of final commendation and farewell. The first reading was read by Isabel Richard. The second reading in French and the prayers of the faithful were read by Ida Bernard. The music was under the direction of Monique Pendergast/ Doucette, piano and Rodney Arsenault, guitar, accompanying singers Nicole Buote, Monique Doucette and Angela Arsenault. Processional hymn was “Here, I Am Lord”. Psalm was “The Lord’s My Shepherd” sung by Angela Arsenault. Offertory hymn was “The Spirit Song”. Communion hymns were “Comme lui” and “Come to the Water”. Farewell song was “Songs of the Angels”. Recessional hymn was “How Great Thou Art”. The altar servers were Leroy Doucette, Francis Gaudet and Brian Delaney. Eucharistic ministers were Claudia Gaudet, Rachel Butler and Wilma Jones. Attending the funeral were representatives from L’ecole Pierre Chaisson, Centre l’Arc-en-ciel, Wee the West, S. E. Perrey and Miminegash Fire Dept. Active pallbearers were nephew Carson Chaisson who carried the urn and 7 brothers Charles, Junior, Ralph, Elmer, Gerard, Terry and Gilles. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Jones, Johnny Perry, Bob Allain, Richard Arsenault, Brian Bernard, Kevin Butler, David Allain, Bernie Perry, Troy Richard, David Richard, Kenneth Poirier, Pat Doucette, Henry Gaudet, Edward Perry and Robert Perry. Flower bearers were Dawson, Wendy, Kelly Ann, Ciara and Miley Chaisson. Interment will take place at a later date in the church cemetery.
