Tor­na­does trim Ma­roons in senior ac­tion

Tyne Val­ley off to 2-0 start

The Tyne Val­ley Tor­na­does had a strong show­ing in the West Prince Senior Hockey League on Satur­day night.

The Tor­na­does trimmed the O’Leary Ma­roons 8-1 be­fore ap­prox­i­mately 800 fans at the O’Leary Com­mu­nity Sports Cen­tre.

TJ Camp­bell and Con­nor Dil­lon each scored a pair of goals to lead the Tor­na­does. Sin­gle mark­ers came off the sticks of Josh Dar­rach (1-1), Evan Shea (1-1), Spencer Phillips, Evan Bal­lum and Spencer Phillips. Mitchell Phillips added two as­sists.

Mike MacIsaac, as­sisted by Jeff MacIsaac and Darcy Tu­plin, coun­tered for O’Leary.

Tyne Val­ley took a 2-0 lead into the first in­ter­mis­sion, and ex­tended that mar­gin to 6-1 af­ter 40 min­utes. Jake Hack­ett earned the goal­tend­ing win.
