SKILLS CANADA

The Skills Canada P.E.I. competitio­n for trade and technology occupation­s is occurring this March. Competitio­n areas include animation, automotive, carpentry, cooking, job search, public speaking, welding and many more. If you are interested in competing, see Mr. McAleer as soon as possible.

ACADEMY DIPLOMA PROGRAM IN AGRICULTUR­E & BIOSCIENCE

Welcome back to Jessica Reeves and the 27 ADP students who were attending Encounters with Canada at the Terry Fox Canadian Youth Centre in Ottawa from Feb. 10 to 16. Theme of their week was Tech & Food.

STUDENT COUNCIL NEWS

Pajama Day and Pancake Day: Wednesday, Feb. 20

Students can be comfy today and wear their pajamas.

The students council will prepare a pancake breakfast from 8-9 a.m. for students and staff (no cost). *Regular morning classes will follow after the breakfast.

Pink Shirt Day: Wednesday, Feb. 27

We will be encouragin­g students to wear pink that day to raise awareness against bullying.

WRITING CONTESTS

1) The Island Literary Awards are accepting student submission­s until Feb. 28, 2019.

2) Anti-Racism Creative Challenge - The PEI Associatio­n for Newcomers to Canada is again organizing a creative competitio­n for Island students.

Deadline for submission­s is Feb. 28, 2019.

3) Carleton University Bachelor of Humanities High School Essay Contest - open to all high school students (Gr. 10-12). Deadline is March 1, 2019.

DENTAL PREVENTIVE CLINIC

Dental Preventive Clinic will be starting the second week of February 2019.
