-

GENERAL NEWS

Students will not have classes on Feb. 18 due to Islander Day; March 1 due to a PD Day, March 8 due to School Goals Day; or on March Break from the 18-22. The Cannabis presentation will be rescheduled for Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. in the theatre and is open to the general public.

The results from the vote on Westisle’s 2019 Prom location are in with 80 votes for Mill River and 41 votes for Westisle.

Westisle’s Prom Committee will be passing along more information to the Grade 12 students over the next few weeks.

We have student-athletes attending the Canada Games over the next couple of weeks: Zach Biggar, Men’s Hockey (week 1); Aiden Williams, Men’s Hockey (week 1); Gracyn Handrahan, Women’s Hockey (week 2); Alicia Thomas, Judo (week 2); Justine DesRoches-Pierce Judo (week 2). We wish them all the best!

The 1989 Westisle Men’s Volleyball team was inducted into the newly formed Volleyball PEI Hall of Fame.

And to say that this team was dominant would be an understatement.

They finished with a record of 47 matches won and only one loss. They represented their school, their province and themselves, extremely well and they also set the bar high for Wolverine teams in the years to come. Congratulations on this honour!
