The line-up for the 2020

Rock the Boat Music Festival in Tyne Valley is blending legendary Canadian rock bands with perhaps the nation’s next great country music superstars.

Organizers are putting the finishing touches on the seventh annual edition set to start rocking at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1 at Green Park.

Returning to the big western P.E.I. musical event is Canadian rock legends Trooper, a feature act in 2016. Trooper are known for hit songs like We’re Here for a Good Time (Not a Long Time) and Raise a Little Hell.

The Reklaws, a brother and sister country music act from Cambridge, Ont., will also be performing on the Dennis Motors Stage. Bursting on the scene as a 2013 CCMA Discovery Program Artist, The Reklaws have just released their second studio album Freshman Year.

Support acts include Glass Tiger, Chilliwack and Sons of Daughters.

Chilliwack are being inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2020. Sons of Daughters recently released their new single I Picture You as well as their hit single Ain’t Gonna Be Lonely Long.

Event chairman Adam MacLennan says Rock the Boat continues to grow each year.

“We have found success in creating an event that all ages can attend,’’ says MacLennan.

“We have earned the reputation of being one of the best events that the Island has to offer.”

“The best way to support the (Tyne Valley Oyster) festival and rink (fundraiser) this year, is to purchase your tickets and attend the festival,’’ he says.

“That is the easiest way to support our initiative”.

Prince Edward Island will be well-represented with favourites the Ellis Family Band and Cory Gallant and The

Red Dirt Posse.

Tickets and campsites remain and can be purchased at tvoysterfest.ca. Limited VIP tickets always sell-out quickly.

Atlantic Lotto is the title sponsor.
