4-H P.E.I. Western Region celebrates its community leaders
TYNE VALLEY, P.E.I. – The 4-H P.E.I. Western Region Leader's Appreciation Banquet was held on April 5th at Backwoods Burger in Tyne Valley, hosted by the Elmsdale Beavers 4-H Club, with 35 leaders and senior members in attendance.
Three volunteer leaders, Stephen Wallace, Debra Richardson, and
Grace MacLaurin, were recognized for their 35 years of service to the 4-H program.
Yvette Arsenault of the Evangeline 4-H Club was awarded the Leader Centennial Award for her outstanding service to the program and dedication to volunteering.
“Yvette Arsenault is in her element when she gives for a cause, a charity, or a person in need. She is a person who continually helps others, either by her talents in cooking, cake decorating, or just her many acquaintances or simply by her good humour,” stated the youth organization in a press release.
Illsley's Feed and Farm Supply was awarded the Friend of 4-H Award for its support and donations to the program.
Tania Bernard was announced as this year's recipient of the Leader Recognition Award, which recognizes leaders who have made a significant contribution to the 4-H program.
“Tania has been a dedicated leader for four years and continues to be an influential and passionate member of the 4-H community.”
"She is always one step ahead and brings on new ideas as the club has a very young, but active membership. She assists with many club and regional events and meetings, as well as sits on the 4-H P.E.I. Agriculture Committee as a representative for our region.”
The event also featured entertainment by musician Tanner Gaudet.
