RDÉE P.E.I. recruiting for another Montreal sales mission
RDÉE P.E.I.'s Quebec sales mission last fall is anticipated to have generated around $500,000 in short-term sales, and nearly $1 million in long-term sales for the nine companies who took park.
The figures come as Robert Maddix, mission coordinator for the Francophone business development organization, is gearing up for this spring's virtual and online push to acquire clients and generate sales.
During the most recent effort, which saw four businesses partake virtually and five make the trip to Montreal, Island manufacturers showcased canned coffee, prosthetics, dog food, digital images, promotional photos, sports training, event décor, food manufacturing software and food-cutting boards.
"Some of our companies were in the market exploration phase, while others were trying to see how they could adapt their products or services to the Quebec market. Others were ready to sell their wares right away," Maddix stated in a release.
"Everyone learned new things, everyone made valuable contacts, and everyone developed great business relationships. The majority of our participants have been asked to submit bids, while several have already signed major sales contracts."
Maddix said the organization's 14 sales missions to date have led to about $14 million in direct sales and that local companies have had to hire more people to meet the growing demand.
Looking at the next mission, 10 businesses with French capacity can take part virtually from May 6-10 or in person from May 13-17. Those travelling are eligible for a 40 per cent reimbursement on travel expenses.
Companies will receive training to prepare them to meet potential buyers.
