A Gathering at Deshkan Ziibi
From Thursday, October 18 to Saturday, October 20, we will be hosting The River Talks: A Gathering at Deshkan Ziibi. This unique gathering takes place in our new Centre at the Forks and features talks, walks, activations, and art that explore the future of the river. Join us Thursday, October 18 for the free program Rethinking Water Through Contem- porary Art which starts off with Anishinaabe women’s hand drumming followed by artist presentations and a panel discussion. Lastly, we’ve just announced our fall fundraiser, Night at the Forks Presented by TD Bank! The night starts off with a gala featuring dinner by Chef Joseph Shawana of K -K m Kitchen (one of Toronto Life’s Best New Restaurants for 2018) and entertainment by Cris Derksen, followed by The After Party featuring DJ Shub and Wolf Saga! Featuring clothing from Studio Style, Heather Ringland Designs and Mine 101 as fashion show. The evening includes local green vendors, and a silent auction.
