Ce­le­bra­te con­tem­po­rary In­di­ge­nous cul­tu­re on Sa­tur­day, No­vem­ber 17 with a night of mu­sic, food, and ac­ti­vi­ties at our an­nual fun­drai­ser! This two part event starts off with a ga­la fea­tu­ring din­ner by the re­now­ned Chef Jo­seph Sha­wa­na of K -K m Kit­chen, en­ter­tain­ment by JUNO Award-no­mi­na­ted ce­llist Cris Derk­sen, and a li­ve and si­lent auc­tion fea­tu­ring art­work and oneof-a-kind ex­pe­rien­ces! The se­cond part of the night is The Af­ter Party fea­tu­ring mu­si­cal per­for­man­ces by JUNO Award-win­ner DJ Shub (for­mer mem­ber of A Tri­be Ca­lled Red) and Wolf Sa­ga, as well as ap­pe­ti­zers by Chef Jo­seph Sha­wa­na. Join us for a night of fun whi­le sup­por­ting the Mu­seum! Both events are 19+.

Com­me­mo­ra­ting the 100th an­ni­ver­sary of the end of World War I, the Grand Thea­tre will ho­nour the sa­cri­fi­ces of our sol­diers past and pre­sent with the Go­ver­nor Ge­ne­ral Award­win­ning story,

TI­MOTHY FINDLEY’S THE WARS ba­sed on the book of the sa­me na­me by one of Ca­na­da’s most dis­tin­guis­hed aut­hors.

Adap­ted and di­rec­ted by Grand Thea­tre Ar­tis­tic Di­rec­tor, Den­nis Garn­hum, TI­MOTHY FINDLEY’S THE WARS laun­ches the 18/19 season on the Spriet Sta­ge, run­ning from Oc­to­ber 23 to No­vem­ber 11, Re­mem­bran­ce Day.

This Ca­na­dian clas­sic fo­llows young Ro­bert Ross from his To­ron­to fa­mily ho­me to the muddy battle­fields of France. In­ten­se and po­wer­ful, TI­MOTHY FINDLEY’S THE WARS re­minds us, th­rough one man’s jour­ney, of the sa­cri­fi­ce of our sol­diers in the “war to end all wars.”
