L’acteur irlandais sort rarement sans sa maman adorée, Rita. Cette dernière a d’ailleurs rencontré son deuxième mari, le producteur Joel Michaelds du film Fright Night, sorti en 2011. « Si ma participation à ce long métrage a conduit au bonheur de ma mère, alors il s’agit sans doute de mon plus grand accomplissement », a fièrement affirmé Farrell à Entertainment Weekly.
