The lo­cal On­ta­rio Pro­vin­cial Po­lice De­part­ment de­tach­ment is ho­ping to iden­ti­fy a man who re­cent­ly ap­proa­ched chil­dren, of­fe­ring to drive them home.

The in­ci­dent oc­cur­red on De­cem­ber 21, 2018, at ap­proxi­ma­te­ly 4 p.m. The OPP’s Rus­sell Coun­ty De­tach­ment re­cei­ved a com­plaint about a sus­pi­cious ve­hicle dri­ven by a male who ap­proa­ched chil­dren wal­king near Cen­te­naire Street in Em­brun The unk­nown male dri­ving a sil­ver ve­hicle slo­wed down on Cen­te­naire Street at the in­ter­sec­tion of Nor­man­die Ave­nue and en­ga­ged in a conver­sa­tion with the chil­dren.

Ac­cor­ding to the com­plaint, the dri­ver told the two youths: “I can drive you home.»

As­sis­tance is being sought from the pu­blic in hel­ping to iden­ti­fy him, and/or the ve­hicle with the fol­lo­wing des­crip­tion.

The sus­pect is des­cri­bed as a man in his 30’s, with dark com­plexion, wea­ring a black rain coat and ha­ving dark brown curly hair. The ve­hicle is des­cri­bed as a clean Sil­ver Hon­da Ci­vic with no rust, win­ter tires with black rims and four tin­ted win­dows.

Po­lice in­vite pa­rents to dis­cuss and re­view the Stran­ger Dan­ger tips with their chil­dren.

Les agents lo­caux de la PPO sont à la re­cherche d’un sus­pect ayant ap­pro­ché des en­fants de la ré­gion, leur of­frant de les conduire chez eux. L’in­ci­dent s’est pro­duit le 21 dé­cembre 2018 vers 16 h. Le sus­pect se­rait dans la tren­taine, au­rait le teint fon­cé, des che­veux bou­clés brun fon­cé et por­tait un man­teau im­per­méable noir. Le vé­hi­cule, une Hon­da Ci­vic ar­gent clair sans rouille, avait des pneus hi­ver avec jantes noires et quatre vitres tein­tées.
