OPP SEEKING UNKNOWN MAN WHO APPROACHED LOCAL CHILDREN
The local Ontario Provincial Police Department detachment is hoping to identify a man who recently approached children, offering to drive them home.
The incident occurred on December 21, 2018, at approximately 4 p.m. The OPP’s Russell County Detachment received a complaint about a suspicious vehicle driven by a male who approached children walking near Centenaire Street in Embrun The unknown male driving a silver vehicle slowed down on Centenaire Street at the intersection of Normandie Avenue and engaged in a conversation with the children.
According to the complaint, the driver told the two youths: “I can drive you home.»
Assistance is being sought from the public in helping to identify him, and/or the vehicle with the following description.
The suspect is described as a man in his 30’s, with dark complexion, wearing a black rain coat and having dark brown curly hair. The vehicle is described as a clean Silver Honda Civic with no rust, winter tires with black rims and four tinted windows.
Police invite parents to discuss and review the Stranger Danger tips with their children.

Les agents locaux de la PPO sont à la recherche d’un suspect ayant approché des enfants de la région, leur offrant de les conduire chez eux. L’incident s’est produit le 21 décembre 2018 vers 16 h. Le suspect serait dans la trentaine, aurait le teint foncé, des cheveux bouclés brun foncé et portait un manteau imperméable noir. Le véhicule, une Honda Civic argent clair sans rouille, avait des pneus hiver avec jantes noires et quatre vitres teintées.
